Day 23: a month/year of your life when you were happiest and why
June 2009.
The wedding was over. In the first couple days, the Ohio reception was over. I was surrounded by wonderful, fun presents and with the one I loved.
On June 8 (I think), I boarded a train alone and was off to New Mexico. The train ride was relaxing- aside from brewing that Ally was stolen from me.
June 10 (or 8th- don't remember), I started working at Philmont. I completed my training very quickly as I was behind schedule a few weeks because of school and the wedding.
By the end of June, Elizabeth and I were bosom buddies and it was complete with Will as my main wingman. I had never had a group of friends before that got along- typically it was one on one. If you're thinking of my high school buddies that I have pictures with- they're friends amongst themselves. I was mostly only friends with Nichole. They were kind and civil to me when we were all out together. They would be kind enough to invite me to group activities. After those though, no one spoke to me, even if I reached out to them.
In June, I had Zelda the 75cc scooter that I paid cash for, as well. I had my wheels, my friends, and crazy adventures. I knew that I had someone back home and I completely content. Throw in there July for LDS week and I was in heaven. Absolute heaven. I've described my Philmont experiences before....
Heaven
I'm in heaven
And my heart beats
So that I can hardly speak
And I seem to find
The happiness I seek
And the cares
That hung around me
Through the week
Seem to vanish
Like a gamblers
Lucky streak
I love to climb a mountain
And to reach the highest peak
But it doesn't thrill me
I love to go out fishing
In a river, or a creek
But I don't enjoy it half
Heaven
I'm in heaven
