No Occasion Holiday Weekend!

I know that there were a bunch of holidays over the weekend- Cinco de Mayo, National Nurse's Day, May Day, some environmental thingy-day, and all could easily be spread over the weekend.  There was even a march on Sunday for rights or something.

But that's not why I was having fun!

PD came to visit so I was FREAKING out all week to make sure that things went well and we had enough to do and stuff.

Sadly, it caught up to me.

Friday morning when I woke up after a few hours sleep- I felt it.  I had a sore throat and I could tell it wasn't going away anytime soon.

I decided that I wasn't going to let it get the best of me and I was going to have fun anyway!

Friday night, after a funtabulous tour of the school, we left for Fort Worth to see Dixie's Tupperware Party which was one of my favorite shows.  It is also a real tupperware party.  It was almost the exact same show I had seen years prior when it was still new.  It still didn't change that it was hilarious.  We went to bed after that- I was exhausted from cleaning and work, he was exhausted from the long drive.  We picked up the dogs from Debbie's and bunkered down for the night.

*as a side note- that was a last minute plan I didn't plan on.  The original plan was to do a Dallas by Chocolate tour.  It was supposed to be a pizza and beer dinner (minus the beer for us) and visiting 4-5 different chocolate places around the area by limo!  I had already paid for it but Thursday night it was cancelled because it was 'too cold'.  Don't they have hot chocolate??

Anyway....

Saturday, I had extra plans and things and stuffs to do.  Sadly, my cold worsened and I was absolutely dragging.  I didn't have it in me to ask PD to go home.  I also didn't want to be a bad host and do nothing.  There was a lot riding on this weekend!  After a few hours of him asking me to 'get up'- I really was trying... I just didn't have any energy.  We missed our brunch reservation for Reunion Tower- which is ok, it's super expensive.  We did make it to our Dinner and a Flight from Delta Charlie's.  I had this specially set up with a time that wasn't offered- and I have to say it was pretty amazing.  The air was a bit choppy and blew around the little plane, but I didn't expect much from a 4 seater plane anyway.  The dinner was pretty good as well.  I definitely loved our pilot, Terry.  He also kept up a conversation and flew us almost directly over Dallas skyline!  He pointed out Cowboy's stadium and Fort Worth in the distance.  Nice to have a bird's eye view.
Isn't it adorable?

So, I felt a little sick before the ride, fabulous without any problems during the ride, and horrendously sick after.  He had to drive my car back from Red Oak because I simply couldn't.  We stopped at a pharmacy and I maxed out on every kind of drugs I could think of that had different ingredients.  I lost about an hour in my haze.  We missed our show of "Almost Maine" hosted by my sister school, Brookhaven.  I felt horrible, but in such a little venue (70 seats total), I couldn't be sneezing, coughing, and blowing my nose every few seconds.  I had planned to sleep a little, but still get up (like around 10p) to take him out for ice cream.  We have a place that allows you to serve your own toppings which is pretty awesome.  Nope, slept through all of it.

Sunday, we were supposed to sneak in to a special ward conference for my old stake.  Everyone was buzzing about an apostle being around.  They never announced who was where, so I took my chances.  We ended up seeing the president of the 70, but heard there were 2 apostles, one in Fort Worth the other in Plano.  The message was still good- about missionary work and always being a missionary.  I wish I could've enjoyed it more.  I had to keep getting up and walking around the halls.  It was the only way I could continue breathing.  I never thought breathing could be so exhausting!

We were bad (and I was feeling guilty).  Before PD had to leave, we went for the ice cream I had planned for the day before.  It was next to a Cheesecake Factory and after PD said he had never been to one- well, we went there too.  I felt like he had a decent time (I hope).  I tried not to be too sickly and boring.

After Church, we stopped by the Dallas Temple.  It was closed, but still beautiful to see a temple in person and up close

I better watch her- one of these days he might just steal her!
