So after church I went back to bed.... well, the futon. I watched some movies and went in and out of consciousness. It was mind numbing and exactly what I thought I wanted. I was getting through the day- doesn't matter how I do it, right?
I ignored PD's text asking me if I was feeling better- ummmm? Duh?
Next, I got a text from Exie. He was told the night before that he wasn't driving to south Texas to visit his mom. He wasn't sure why, but turned out his mother drove up here. He was at Joe Pool Lake (the lake by my school). He invited me to come over and spend time with him and his family. I told him that I didn't want to disrupt his family time to which he replied, "but I don't want you to be bored alone at home". I still shot him down, but then my mood started to change slightly.
I received a text from JFK. He wanted to drop something off and asked for my address. I gave it to him. I had some extra cookies and wrapped them up to give to him. He arrived (after driving past my house). He was dressed in a nice suit. He opened his trunk and pulled out two carnations and a container of chocolate brownies! Kudos to him for knowing the state flower of Ohio! (leave it to a professor, right?) He was here for less than five minutes- on his way to his mother's house for dinner. It was long enough, however, for him to hold my dogs while I put the brownies inside. In the meantime, my one dog peed on the sidewalk directly next to his shoe. It horrified him but I thought it was funny....
Finally, Debbie called a few times. It wasn't an emergency- I could tell. She didn't text me- mostly why I knew it wasn't an emergency.
Well, she simply showed up.
She has a key after all.
So she showed up with Sara. They came in and sat down after giving me a hug. She pulled out a bag. In it, she gave me a mother's day present- a brand new soup bowl (because mine broke when I moved), Hello Kitty Cupcake mix and Hello Kitty PINK hot chocolate mix!!!
They stayed for awhile. We watched TV and Sara even made dinner. I called my mother in the middle of it- she ended up calling me back and she talked to Debbie some. When Sara and Debbie left around 10- I felt totally loved but couldn't help but think there was a higher power at play.
While I'd love to give the credit to Heavenly Father, I can't help but think that Heavenly Mother played a part in showing a Mother's love to her daughter down on Earth. I'm also very thankful to the Spirits' of my friends for reaching out to me and I don't even think they realize what an impact they made to me yesterday. Thank you.
