day 55: a passage from a book that has touched you
Suuuu.... I'm not a super huge book reader.
I'm thinking that from the books I have read- they've probably touched me in all the wrong ways....
I remember a graphic passage from Where the Red Fern Grows because it was gory- about someone sinking an ax into their leg and probably a death.... (geez, it was a LONG time ago). Same kind of experience with Lord of the Flies. More recently, it was the pics in my EMT book- the first true-to-life gory thing I've seen (try looking at a de-gloving- never thought I had a queezy stomach!)
As for lovey-dovey-mushy stuff, I guess I burnt myself out on it. Words can be touching, but it's just a story. I know some are based on real life things, people were saved through real-life actions as described, but unless I can directly apply it- it passes through like, "well, that was beautiful! Now, on to real life....."
