day 53: your day, in great detail
Hmmmm.... A Sunday? Today? Or 'a day in the life' kinda thing?
I guess I could do today, then maybe a day in general.
I feel like I've done this before.....
Today, I'm camping, and its absolutely wonderful. Scott didn't sleep well at all, go figure, he works night shifts. Anyway, so we got up around 550. He already had the fire going. We sat and talked for awhile. We watched the dawn crack, then around 7, the sun arose quickly over the lake. It seriously came up extra fast. We made our turkey bacon and eggs two different ways- mine and his. My eggs were awesome, Boy Scout fashion in a baggie in boiling water with some bacon and garlic. His were fried over the fire, which oddly took FOREVER. His fried bacon though, was superb. We took our extra bacon down to our site neighbor. He and Scott talked awhile. I watched and fed the dogs, in the meantime. Finally around 9 to 945ish, we went to Walmart and bought our fishing licenses. I couldn't believe they still had dialup for their machinery!! By 11, we were hooking and fishing. It was great! I couldn't believe I actually caught more than one! I let a few hours slide past me here.
The rest of our plans, well, we have to clear out, check out, maybe eat again. At some point, I need to drive home.
We checked out right about 2. We went to his hotel and dropped off the dogs for some peace and quiet. We both showered first, nothing better than wiping off the gunk, dirt, and catfish slime! After, about 330 or 4, we went to Fuzzys for some tacos since we didn't catch any fish big enough to eat. Around 530, we came back to the hotel, fell asleep watching some documentary on 'the strip' in Vegas. Woke back up around 8 and I headed home. Didn't quite mean to pick a fight with Jon and Chris, but oh well. I got home around 930, talked to Mom on the phone about my trip. Unpacked the car then went to bed around 1030.
