Time is a Wonderment

This past weekend was just full of all sorts of things.

Friday, I stayed late at work cleaning the storage room.  There was a massage therapist coming Tuesday and she needed to use the room.  The room was ABSOLUTELY TRASHED but now it's all clean and sparkly!

Saturday was busy busy!  I had chores in the morning (post office, bank, cleaning, etc.)  And helping Debbie move.  I was also shopping for condos and making appointments- I don't think my phone ever stopped ringing....

So her brother (Chris?) was there.  He's engaged to some chick named Tyler.  They're been engaged for the year I've known her- I don't think they've set a date yet.  I don't think Debbie really wants the marriage to happen.  Anyway, we were playing back and forth.  Finally, I made fun of something he did and to apologize he's all like, "Well, what do you want me to do about it- bow down and kiss your shoe?"  And I was all like, "Yes! Duh!"

So what did he do....

He did it.

Definitely weird.  Not to mention he shoved a wooden backscratching hand down my pants.  Such a good fiance.... poor woman.

Saturday night was Whirrlyball!  Ever heard of that?  It's a cross between basketball and lacrosse played while riding in a bumper car.  I really did say bumper car.....

It was GREAT!  I really suck at it, but it was fun nonetheless.  Debbie and I also played laser tag.  That game lasted FOREVER.  I was glad when it was over- I actually didn't do too bad.  I was right in the middle score-wise.  We thought about playing again, but each game was almost 20 minutes and that was just way too long.

So as we were thinking of leaving, a group of people gathered outside and thought about going to dinner.  John had called me and asked him to save him a seat.  It's always great to go to some poor unsuspecting place

"So.... how many are in your party?"

"15."

"Really?  It's gonna be a little bit of a wait"

They tried to seat us normally in like 3 tables in a back room.  We weren't going for that- so I started the movement to get the three tables together and sit together as our little Mormon family.

I don't actually remember his name- isn't that sad?  But he gives the BEST hugs!  He's in my institute class.

The 15 of us ate dinner together.  I was with Debbie, Lindsay, John, and this guy.  It was great fun!  Debbie got into an argument with a resident that was in our group- *sigh* pharm tech vs resident.  Just glad they didn't put the nurse in the middle!

Sunday morning, I had found out that one of my dear friends had passed on Saturday night.  It was very quick and unexpected.  I had talked to her just a week before and she was absolutely fine aside from feeling a little tired.  Hard to believe she's gone.  I can still hear her voice.  The last thing she ever said to me was a beautiful compliment.  She had thanked me for everything I had done so far and told me how beautiful my spirit was.  She was such an incredible person.  She will be missed.

God knew how I would feel.  I was blessed that I didn't have my crazy boys.  I was also glad I stayed, once told I could leave, because I learned that it was Kylie's last Sunday- and I wouldn't have wanted to miss that.

Sunday evening was great too!  We joined a group carpooling from Dallas 2nd (which was stupid because we ended up just going as us).  It was Debbie, Sarah, John, and I.  Debbie didn't want to drive and she had the only car that we would all fit in (I picked John up from Richardson so we didn't have his car) so she had me drive her car.  I was afraid I was going to crash because she or her car seems to be prone to that.

Anyhoo, we got to see ELDER BEDNAR in person!!!! It was a nationwide broadcast.  It was soooo amazing.

I really felt that he was talking to me.  Between the marriage, bone cancer, dealing with death, I seriously cried.  I noticed that some others were fidgety toward the end, but it was an amazing talk just for me.

At the end, we all got to line up and shake his hand.  I got to see nearly everyone from the night before plus Ross.

On the ride home, we followed a motorcycle gang home.  They popped a wheelie for long stretches of highway at slow speeds.  We tried to pass them a few times, but it didn't work.  It was super scary.  John wanted me to tailgate them then hit one if he fell off.  Can we say 'no, thank you?'

Monday, I was placed in charge of a $1.5 million project that was subsequently denied.  It was an interesting 12 or so hours.  I went through a plethora of emotions ranging from inadequacy to conquering anything life had to throw at me.  Even when it was denied, it was for good reason, so it didn't bother me in the slightest.  It just reminds me that time is a wonderment and you never know what's around that next corner....
