Suuuuu..... I'm lovin my new apartment! It was a shame to move out of the hotel on such a negative note, but hey- if someone messes with something as expensive as a motorcycle and you won't look at the the security tapes you have- there's something wrong with you. I woulda been all over those tapes and so incredibly apologetic! I woulda been after that son-of-a-gun and make sure he never messed with my patrons again.
But nuuuuuuuu.... I was told it was too little, too trivial a matter to trouble her with- well soooorrrrrry! Screw you lady.
I told Scott, my highly racist friend and he shot back with some unrepeatable things- while I'm not for racism at all, I thought similar things.
Anyway, so I moved. I'm in the same zip code, which is nice, kinda. I know that I stayed for my kids that I can't really stand at church. I miss my old ward, especially since they seemed to care about me- my ward that I've now been a part of for almost a year has yet to learn my name. It took 8 months for home and visiting teachers and both cared AFTER I moved. But, I love my new place. I finally have another place to call home and MINE! Yay! ^_^
While I may be happy, I know some peoples that might not be happy with me. Those would be my neighbors!! Aside from hammering some pictures last night, I happened to wake them up with my SCREAMING this morning....
Why was I screaming, you ask? I'll tell you, remember my entry about Fudge and Bugz? Well, this is Bugz 2.0. It could have been so much worse, but I'm thankful there's some distance between my bathroom and my front door...
I was taking a shower. I'm nearly blind without my poor glasses, it's quite sad. Anyway, I thought that I had seen something move out of the corner of my eye. I turned but didn't see anything. I continued on blissfully unaware of the pending debauchery. When I saw the movement again, I saw that it was another 'tree roach' (that's what someone had told me it was called). I don't know where he came from, since they're like 2 INCHES big. He was on the other side of the shower curtain so I flicked him off and figured a dog would eat it (cuz they would at least kill it when playing) or merely that I would deal with it later and was more ready to.
A few minutes later, that stupid bug was back with a vengeance. It crawled up the side of the tub and straight into the water. That's when I started screaming. I'm so surprised I didn't slip and fall! I was running and screaming, batting at the shower curtain....
My poor puppies. They had no idea what was going on. Ileya came to the bedroom to see what was happening and Dai was howling from the living room, but not coming to investigate. I felt so bad. It took a few minutes to get them to stop barking. Poor Dai had little hiccuppy barks for several minutes (I think it's kinda like a little child when they get sooooooo upset that they can't quite stop crying). I ended up washing the bug down the drain. I left the shower on for an additional 20 minutes just to make sure he was gone. To be doubly sure, I also put in the drain stopper in every drain in my house prior to leaving. I don't need that mess again, much less at 6am. I moved there for the peace and quiet while I'm the one with da noise! Poor people.
Today, I was late to my event (not really- I was late to be early especially since on Thursdays I don't work til 10a) because the Presidents (5 actually) were in town to be at the dedication of SMU's new library. Even though it was named for Pres Bush, I think since they want to show how important education is- they should have stopped by the health fair for a photo op- it would have been perfect. Oh well, thanks for stealing my people!
It went off pretty well. I just wish I was there earlier- that and that I didn't get in trouble for posting a bunch of little paper signs across campus.... oh well. Even the Chief warned me that I'm on the path to get fired. So fire me. You want numbers, I got 'em. If you fire me over something as petty as paper signs that were up for less than 3 hours then I'm sorry- find yourself someone that will sit in the office and do nothing but wait for students. You asked for someone to make a change and do something different- then I'm not willing to back down. The Chief said that he liked my HIV testing e-mail, even commented that it was funny. I've got way more scores for that than blocks- go me! We have had record numbers at events since I've been here- doesn't that speak for itself? (~ steps off soapbox~)
I'm glad the health fair went well. My boss came down and gave me a big hug and said how proud she was. It was a great feeling- just wish it wasn't faded by my warning for stupid paper signs. I'm excited for next year- it will be bigger and greater than ever! Mostly because I'll have longer than 3 weeks to plan it.....
